Customizing a Screen

Many screens throughout the program can be customized -- sections or columns added or removed, etc.

 

List Windows

In most cases (list windows), click Customize View and the Customize View screen opens.

Choose fields to be added to the view, or remove fields from view.

 

Change the order of the fields viewed by highlighting one and clicking the up or down arrow to change its position in the order.

The field at the top of the list is the field at the far left in the list window.

 

Click OK when finished.

 

If you revise the view and decide you want to return to program defaults, click Set Default.

 

Home Page

To customize the Home page, click Customize this page. The My Home Page screen opens. You can also access this screen from the File menu, selecting My Home Page.

The Category is the label that shows in the Home page. To create a new category, click New Category in the Options bar. Enter the name for this category yourself. Establish the order by clicking the field and entering a number from the keyboard.

Be sure you don't duplicate numbers.

 

Select a color by double-clicking the Color field. Select from common colors, or create your own custom color by clicking Define Custom Colors.

 

You can also double-click the icon in the Image ID field to pop up an Image Selection screen. Select one of 25 images available to help identify the category.

 

In the Category Items section of this screen, enter a Caption for the item and choose an Action by clicking the down arrow. (You may have to click the field before the arrow appears.) You can even include Web links, choosing the action of Open a File.

 

The value in the Item field is governed by the action chosen. Click the down arrow and make a choice.

 

Set the order for the item to appear in your list. When you create a new item, it automatically is assigned the next number in the list.

 

Click Close Screen to save changes. When you close the customize screen, the program remembers your changes.

 

Scheduler

Customize the Scheduler by determining what information to display with an appointment. See Program Preferences and Practice Information.

 

Resizing Columns in Screens

Columns in screens can be changed by clicking and dragging the column header boundary lines and dragging the line. The program remembers the new column sizes and displays them until the sizes are changed again.
