Fee Schedules

Fee schedules are lists of how much an insurance plan will pay for procedures. Most insurance companies with which you are credentialed provide you with a fee schedule. By entering this fee schedule in the program and connecting it to a particular patient, or group of patients, the program automatically finds the correct amount to put in the claim when you create transactions.

 

The program can contain up to 120 different fee schedules, helping you send accurate statements without having to thumb through actual lists before entering proper charge amounts. This helps your patient know more clearly what his or her financial responsibility may be, and helps you know more accurately your income.

 

Quick Steps

1.

Go to Lists menu

 

2.

Select Fee Schedule List.

 

3.

Double-click an unnamed fee schedule record.

 

4.

Name the fee schedule.

 

5.

Enter charge amounts for procedures used.

 

6.

Click Save Changes to save changes.

 

Repeat these steps for each fee schedule you need to create.

You can sort the list of codes by category to make entering/editing of amounts easier. Click View by Category and choose the category you want.

 

Full Instructions

Go to the Lists menu and select Fee Schedule List.

This list contains all the fee schedules created in the program. The list above is from the same database that comes with DentiMax.

 

To create a new list, double-click an available fee schedule record. To edit an existing list, double-click it, or highlight it and click Edit Fee Schedule, or highlight it and press F9.

 

Identify a new list typing a name in the Name field. This is the name that displays in the fee schedule list.

 

Each available list already contains the service codes and descriptions. They cannot be altered in this screen. Here, you just enter the amount charged for each of the codes used by your practice. If you don't use a particular code, skip that code.

You can sort this screen by Category (diagnostic, preventive, restorative, etc.) if necessary.

 

When finished, or when you need to leave the fee schedule listing and do something else, click Save Changes. All changes are saved. You can return to the fee schedule as often as needed to continue or make corrections.

 

 

Customizing

The columns displayed in the Fee Schedule List screen are customizable. See Customizing a Screen.

 

In addition, the filters can also be changed -- added to, removed, etc. See Customizing Filters.
